The ADA sponsors Camp Colorado each year to serve children between the ages of 9-17 who have type 1 diabetes (T1D). The week long camp is held each summer near Woodland Park, CO. The goal of the camp is to foster independence, self confidence, and awareness of a healthy lifestyle through education, nutrition, exercise, emotional well being and glucose control in children living with T1. A full medical staff is on site 24/7 to monitor and mentor the children. We are raising funds to provide “camperships” for children with limited financial means.
JDRF is the largest nongovernment funder of T1D research. They are uniquely positioned to advance ground breaking therapies through the research pipeline to better treat and eventually prevent and cure T1D.
